In today’s fast-evolving digital economy, businesses need more than technical expertise to succeed—they require adaptability, innovation, and a customer-first mindset. Entrepreneurs who can navigate uncertainty while embracing technological change are shaping the future of the IT industry.
In this exclusive interview with EntrepreneurDesk.com, Ahmad, Founder & Managing Director of SIMBIZ, shares his entrepreneurial journey, the lessons learned from building multiple companies, how SIMBIZ sustained growth during challenging times, and his vision for the future. He also discusses the importance of trust, business resilience, and the opportunities and challenges facing the IT consultancy sector.
Q. How have you sustained your business as an entrepreneur?
Ahmad:
I have more than 16 years of experience working in the Telecom, IT, and Marketing industries in various roles ranging from junior to managerial positions. Throughout my career, I have closely worked with top management and learned how to handle difficult and challenging situations. SIMBIZ is the fourth company I have founded, so I have gained valuable experience in overcoming setbacks and building businesses from the ground up.
Sustaining an IT consultancy business is certainly challenging, but several key factors have contributed to our continued success. One of the most important was identifying the right niche, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic when businesses rapidly shifted online and remote work became the norm.
We also ensure that we stay updated with emerging technologies because the software industry is constantly evolving. Building a talented and motivated team has been equally important, as they enable us to consistently deliver high-quality services. We focus on fostering long-term relationships with our clients, resulting in repeat business and positive referrals. Most importantly, we have diversified our revenue streams by serving multiple industries and offering a range of services instead of depending on only one or two clients.
Q. Tell us about your business model and operations.
Ahmad:
There is no single “best” business model for an IT company because it depends on the organization’s target market, size, and objectives.
At SIMBIZ, we operate multiple business models. For some clients, we use an hourly billing model where charges are based on the number of hours worked. We also offer project-based pricing with fixed project costs, as well as subscription-based services for ongoing support and maintenance. Our core business model is IT outsourcing, where we provide technology services to businesses on a contractual basis.
Currently, we are focused on developing additional products and plan to adopt a combination of project-based and subscription-based models. Ultimately, every organization should evaluate different approaches and determine which model best suits its business goals and customer requirements.
Q. How has the year 2022 been for your company?
Ahmad:
I must admit that 2022 was both an exciting and challenging year for our IT consultancy business. Despite the continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, we successfully delivered high-quality IT solutions and services to our clients.
Our emphasis on agility, innovation, and customer satisfaction enabled us not only to overcome the challenges but also to expand into new markets. One of our biggest achievements was successfully implementing several large-scale digital transformation projects for local and international clients, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and data analytics to improve operational efficiency and business growth.
We also invested in new tools and internal systems to streamline our operations and further enhance our service delivery.
Overall, 2022 was a year of growth and progress, and I believe we are well-positioned for continued success.
Q. How is SIMBIZ building trust and transparency among customers?
Ahmad:
As the Founder and Managing Director of SIMBIZ, building trust and transparency is one of our highest priorities. Trust forms the foundation of every successful business relationship, and we strive to earn it through honest communication, transparent business practices, and consistent delivery of quality services.
We regularly update our clients on project progress, openly share results, and encourage feedback. We ensure that every customer query receives prompt and transparent responses.
Additionally, security and privacy remain central to all our projects. We have implemented robust security measures to protect customer data and maintain strict ethical standards across our organization.
Our long-term goal is to build lasting relationships based on mutual trust, transparency, and reliability.
Q. What are your future plans with SIMBIZ?
Ahmad:
I am extremely proud of what SIMBIZ has achieved so far, and I am even more excited about our future.
Our mission has always been to help businesses achieve their goals through technology by providing world-class IT consultancy services.
Going forward, we plan to expand our service offerings, invest in new technologies, and recruit top industry talent. We also intend to expand into new geographical markets, allowing us to serve a broader range of clients.
At the same time, we remain committed to delivering exceptional service to our existing customers and maintaining our reputation as a trusted technology partner. We believe our focus on innovation, excellence, and customer satisfaction will continue to drive our growth.
Q. For those entering this industry, what are the main challenges from your personal experience?
Ahmad:
One of the biggest challenges is attracting and retaining skilled professionals. The software development industry is highly competitive, making it difficult to recruit and keep talented developers, designers, and IT specialists.
Another major challenge is keeping pace with rapidly changing technology. Businesses must continuously learn and adopt new tools, platforms, and technologies to remain competitive.
Project management is equally demanding. Software projects involve multiple stakeholders, strict deadlines, and constantly evolving requirements, making effective planning and execution essential.
Balancing speed with quality is another challenge. Clients often expect quick delivery, but businesses must ensure that solutions remain reliable, secure, and thoroughly tested.
Finally, cybersecurity and data privacy have become more critical than ever. Organizations must continuously strengthen their security practices to protect customer information.
While these challenges are significant, I believe they can be overcome through innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Q. What key strengths helped SIMBIZ get through the struggles during COVID?
Ahmad:
I believe our greatest strength was our flexibility and ability to adapt. While no business was fully prepared for a pandemic, we quickly transitioned to remote work without disrupting our services.
Our strong client relationships also played a vital role. Many clients relied on us for guidance during uncertain times, and we remained committed to supporting their business continuity.
Innovation became another key strength. We developed new services and identified emerging opportunities that helped our clients adjust to rapidly changing business conditions.
Our collaborative company culture ensured that our team remained connected, motivated, and productive despite working remotely. In addition, we maintained financial discipline by reducing unnecessary expenses, enabling us to continue investing in both our business and our employees.
These strengths helped SIMBIZ successfully navigate one of the most challenging periods in recent history, and they continue to position us for future growth.
